Where you buy has nothing to do with it being OK to sell on eBay or not unless the place you buy from objects. Some companies do but not many.
You cannot sell knives or guns or bombs or similar but while those are against eBay rules, it is because of UK laws.
I suggest you start out by selling some things from around the house that you no longer need to get a feel for how selling works and to find out if you like it or not. Also buy some inexpensive things you need anyway to get a feel for the buying piece.
You can get advice here on almost any phase of eBay except exactly where to buy stock at good prices. Anyone who has such sources will be using them and will not give away the information they worked hard to find so someone else can go into direct competition with them.
